The Texas Tribune reports that Billy Joe Wardlow was executed by lethal injection at the Huntsville Unit last night at 6:28. Wardlow’s execution was the first in the state since COVID-19 became a pandemic. Wardlow was executed for a robbery and a murder in East Texas that he committed when he was 18-years-old. STATE SALES TAX REVENUE TOTALED $2.7 BILLION IN JUNE

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said state sales tax revenue totaled $2.67 billion in June, 6.5 percent less than in June 2019. The majority of June sales tax revenue is based on sales made in May and remitted to the agency in June.
