The Walker County Office of Emergency Management reports as of Monday, June 29, at 3 PM, 452 active and recovered cases of coronavirus among regular county residents—that’s 279 active cases and 170 recovered. Note that there are 37 new community cases since the last report on June 26.

TDCJ reports that among offenders in the county 36 active cases and 1,606 recovered. Deceased 28.

The next community testing is July 8, 9 AM to 6 PM, at the Walker County Fairgrounds. Symptoms do not have to be present to test; however, you must register at or call 512-883-2400.  A valid ID is required at the test site. Registration begins 48 hours prior.

TDCJ’s COVID-19 Case Counts website reports as of Monday, June 29, among offenders statewide 1,013 active cases; 6,790 recovered; presumed COVID deceased 79 and 33 pending cause.

Among TDCJ employees statewide, there were 527 active cases; 928 recovered; presumed COVID deceased 8 and pending cause 0.
