Hurricane season began June 1st and will be in effect through November 30, 2020.
Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush held a webinar on hurricane preparedness Monday morning.
Lead seasonal forecaster for the NOAA Climate Prediction Center, Dr. Jerry Bell, gave an extensive talk on hurricane causes and formations.
He passed along a hurricane forecast, as well . . . .
Dr. Bell added, “Remember these outlooks are for the overall seasonal activity. They’re not a hurricane landfall forecast, and the reason is that–how many storms strike, how strong they are, when they strike, the damage they do and so on—that really depends on the weather patterns that are in place at the time that the storm is approaching.”
