Huntsville’s Gen. Sam Houston Folk Festival is set to take place Friday, May 15th through Sunday, May 17th. The 33rd Annual Festival will take place on the grounds of the Sam Houston Memorial Museum. The museum grounds will be transformed into a bustling Texas frontier settlement where you can watch historical re-enactments & demonstrations, listed to live music, sip homemade root beer, share a bag of kettle corn, shop for crafts or simply stroll the homestead where Sam & Margaret Houston lived and the place their children played. Hours are 9am-3pm Friday, 10am-6pm Saturday and noon-5pm Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults – $3 for children ages 4-12. For more information call Megan Buro at (936) 294-1832.
