1981 - Eric Clapton canceled his 60-date tour of the U.S. due to an attack of bleeding ulcers.
1992 - Forty thousand fans congregated in Irving, Texas to watch Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Paul Simon, and John Mellencamp perform for Farm Aid Five.
2005 - U2 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with The Pretenders, Buddy Guy, the OJays, and Percy Sledge at a dinner ceremony in New York.
