WALKER COUNTY HISTORICAL COMMISSION ANNOUNCES SEVEN HILLS OF HUNTSVILLE MARKER DEDICATION

The Walker County Historical Commission announces the dedication of the Seven Hills of Huntsville historical subject marker which will take place on September 14, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. in Town Creek Park on the north side of Town Creek on City of Huntsville property at 1212 Avenue M.

This dedication will be preceded by a special run, the “Seven Hills of Huntsville Run/Walk,” which is sponsored by the Seven Hills Running Club of Huntsville. The run starts where the marker dedication will take place, on the north side of the Town Creek Park sign on Avenue M. Runners can choose a 1 mile or 5K distance.  Entry is $2, $1 for club members, and the run will begin at 8:30 a.m.  Registration will be on site with no pre-registration.  Water, Gatorade and light snacks will be provided.

Following the run, the marker will be dedicated, and a reception will follow the marker dedication at the Walker County Museum/Gibbs-Powell House at 1228 Eleventh Street
