Walker County Commissioners met for a regular session Monday morning at the courthouse.
One of the several agenda items they discussed involved an HGAC grant for a pharmaceutical take back box to be installed in the lobby of the Sheriff’s office.
Sheriff’s Office Captain Tim Whitecotton addressed commissioners . . . .
HGAC did a contract with a company out of Houston that does the incinerating. HGAC will be paying $740 for the first year—you get four boxes a year. In his survey, Captain Whitecotton found 1 to 5 boxes a year were used for disposal. The first time it’s run is when most of the disposable drugs show up.
