Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae reports that on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 1:23am, deputies with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a possible Aggravated Robbery at the Gulf Coast Trade Center which is located on Forest Service Road 233. Upon arrival Sheriff Deputies were advised that a staff member of the Gulf Coast Trade Center had been assaulted with a fire extinguisher and at least one student fled the scene in a vehicle belonging to the victim in this case. During the investigation deputies learned that actually a total of 3 juvenile students left the campus without permission and had not returned.
As the deputies were searching the area for the missing juveniles they were advised that one of the juveniles had returned to the Gulf Coast Trade Center. The juvenile was later picked up by a Walker County Sheriff’s Deputy, processed and transported to Victoria Juvenile Detention Center, and released into their custody.
Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, and the victim was then transported to the Huntsville Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Around 2:00pm the Walker County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Terrell Police Department that the stolen vehicle had been recovered, and that the two remaining juveniles were placed into custody.
