HPD MAKES ARREST FOR INJURY TO A CHILD

A press release from the City of Huntsville reports that the Huntsville Police Department was alerted to a 2-month-old child that had been gravely injured on Sunday, May 12. The initial investigation indicated that the child had suffered severe brain trauma according to medical professionals, allegedly cause by being violently and repeatedly shaken.

HPD’s investigation led to the child’s father, Kenneth Benard Bay, as a primary suspect.  Following a thorough investigation, Bay was arrested and charged with Injury to a Child and transported to the Walker County Jail, with bond set at $20,000 by Justice of the Peace Holt.

As of yesterday afternoon, the child was being cared for in the Intensive Care Unit of Texas Children’s Hospital in stable condition.
