U-S SEEKS TO EXTRADITE WIKILEAKS FOUNDER JULIAN ASSANGE TO U-S

Following WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s arrest and removal from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London Thursday where he had been living for about 7 years, he was taken by Metropolitan Police in London to Westminster Magistrates Court. He is being held for breaching bail conditions from many years ago following a sex assault charge out of Sweden. He is also being held on behalf of authorities in the US for possible extradition to the U-S. The U-S Justice Department charged Assange Thursday with conspiracy to commit computer intrusion for helping Chelsea Manning crack a password to enter a classified U-S government computer back in 2010.

Protestors outside the court Thursday chanted for his release. . . .
