In Boston Tuesday U-S Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, Andrew Lelling, told reporters at a press conference that he and his colleagues were there that day “to announce charges in the largest college admissions scam ever prosecuted by the Department of Justice–” Operation Varsity Blue . . . .”
According to reports, in order to assure their children’s admission, parents forked over anywhere from $200,000 to $6.5 million. The central company involved with the bribes was admissions consulting company Edge College & Career Network in Newport Beach, California whose founder is William Singer.
